So, I admit, it's been a while. Seven months, to be exact. But what do I have to say for myself? I have been very, very busy these past seven months. The yearbook was completed, submitted on time (hallelujah!), printed, distributed, and adored. Job well done, staffers! It is now sitting in the "foyer" area of my dorm room in Jennie Murphree, at none other than the fabulous Florida State University. I am here for Summer C, taking two classes - Family Relationships and Development & Modern Popular Music - both of which are interesting. In music today, we watched (mesmerized) at the remarkably eerie coordination of Pink Floyd's album, Dark Side of the Moon with The Wizard of Oz! It was definitely amusing, and most certainly a contrast from my high school courses! I am enjoying college and every detail about it! I am loving my single room and bathroom (I'm sure, looking back, I'll be nostalgic for my lovely abode!) as it is personalized and spacious. A large NYC skyscraper graces the wall above my desk, as the black & white photo inspires me to work hard and stay focused. My ordinary garnet chair is covered in my houndstooth blanket and cinched back with a rose ribbon to coordinate with my silk ruffle rosette pillow that lays atop my sage green pin-tuck duvet. Three beautiful canary yellow roses ironically sit in a plastic measuring cup on my mini-kitchen/pantry area. (Thanks to my loving parents!) I have just recently re-visited/re-fallen-in-love-with Lipstick Jungle, a fabulous show starring three powerful women and their encounters in the city. The fashion is amazing; Nico even wears my J.Crew crown ring in multiple episodes--same color and everything! Kudos to her stylist, ha! I stepped into the luxuriously lavish Cole Couture boutique today and was absolutely floored at how chic and trendy it was! The decoration reminded me of Free People and Francesca's. They had a peacock up on the shelf, a glass full of peacock feathers, and another shelf full of eclectic owls grouped together--if that store doesn't fit me perfectly, then I don't know what does?! I'm praying that I'll have time in the future to become and employee. One of the things I truly miss most at home is Sophie & Trey. Not just the clothes, but the atmosphere, Kristin & Ryan, and my job itself! I never realized how much I truly appreciated the opportunity to meet such amazing people on a weekly basis--some who came in with a certain piece in mind, and I was the lucky one to point it out and complete their mission, and others who came in as a blank canvas, open for opinions and suggestions. I love nothing more than making a woman feel beautiful and confident in the right outfit. I believe that the right fitting outfit can make a woman infinitely powerful! I enjoyed being in the fashion-filled atmosphere and being able to live and breathe fashion for nine hours a day. I cannot wait to someday open my own boutique, hopefully with designs of my own within it! I checked my mail today and finally received the long-anticipated-for package from Stephanie D'Ercole. Sure enough, it was just as amazing as I had expected. Her creativity and generosity overflowed into the pale mandarin bubble-wrapped surprise. Her handwritten note was on none other than The Beatles stationary. A vintage postage envelope contained random, yet meaningful, clippings from magazines and multiple other mysterious sources. Beautiful and moving advice and phrases to live by eloquently filled an 8 x 10 piece of paper. My absolute favorite--a homemade fortune cookie on luxurious red felt with my favorite Coco Chanel quote tucked inside!! Not to mention the quote was typed on her up-and-working typewriter. Talk about inspiring! This package brightened not only my day, but my world, knowing that I am fortunate enough to have such a creative, inspiring, genuinely sweet and caring person in my life. Someone I can call my sister. I will post the advice she gave me later, just to ensure that anyone who read this far gets a treat. Hopefully I will be able to form my own words of wisdom as I experience more and more.

Time for some steamy chamomile tea to soothe my aching throat. One Republic - "Sleep" is on, the perfect relaxation song!

Ciau!
